Chapter 911 Misidentification
Chapter 911 Misidentification
Mrs. Godpie slept very uncomfortably; she felt as if her body was being burned by fire. She desperately wanted to wake up, but she couldn't open her eyes no matter what she did.
In a daze, she seemed to be back on the sea, only this time the sea had turned into a sea of fire.
The combined pain, both emotional and physical, caused her to weep incessantly.
"Help..." Lady Godskin cried out in her dream.
However, no matter how she shouted, it was to no avail.
The fire raged and burned through the small boat she was on. Several bodies slid off the boat and sank into the flames, disappearing from sight.
Lady Godpike was terrified, clinging desperately to the wreckage of the small boat. But sadly, the boat didn't hold on for long, and when Lady Godpike could no longer hold on, she too sank into the inferno.
As she continued to sink, she felt her skin, her flesh, and her bones being burned through; the excruciating pain was indescribable.
For a fleeting moment, Mrs. Godpie even considered ending it all.
But in the end, she pulled through. Her consciousness gradually returned. Her exorcist-level mental strength allowed her to survive this nightmare.
Lady Godpick opened her eyes.
"This is...the hospital..." Mrs. Shenpi recalled some things.
"Yes, I'm sick. Was I having a nightmare just now? It felt so real..." Mrs. Shenpi felt sticky all over. The nightmare had left her drenched in sweat.
She glanced to the side and, by the moonlight, could see her assistant fast asleep, slumped over a nearby table.
The lights in the ward were off, but the moon outside the window was very bright, illuminating the ward and making the surrounding environment exceptionally quiet.
Mrs. Godpie stared blankly at her assistant. She didn't want to wake him, but she also didn't want to fall asleep again.
She felt a sharp pain on the back of her hand, which was probably from the needle mark left by the doctor when he gave her the IV drip.
"..." Lady Godpie's mood began to sink.
Perhaps it was this low mood that reminded her of that lovely girl. That girl was so vibrant, and being with her quickly dispelled the gloom in her heart.
"Big Cat... I wonder how she is now."
Pata~ Pata~
A series of crisp footsteps sounded at the door. Mrs. Shenpi looked over curiously.
Then she saw Big Cat Sauce come in through the door.
Mrs. Shenpi instinctively gripped the bedsheets tighter. If her eyes weren't playing tricks on her, Big Cat had walked through the door, not opened it.
Mrs. Godpie's expression turned quite ugly.
"Is it malice? But only the dead can have malice... Could it be... could it be that Big Cat-chan has already..."
Lady Godpatch stared intently at Big Cat, her heart filled with sorrow. She felt that Big Cat was already dead. What had come to her now was merely an evil thought.
"Big Cat, who killed you? Was it your wicked mother? Or your aunt? Or someone else? Please tell me, I won't let that murderer get away!" Madam Godpie said hoarsely.
Mrs. Godpie's throat was killing her, but she was completely oblivious to it.
Big Cat, standing at the door, looked sadly at Lady Godpie.
"Sister...aren't you angry with me?"
"Why should I blame you? Silly child, tell me who hurt you."
"I should be dead. The two-headed bird was with me at the end. She must have killed me," Big Cat said.
"That woman was so vicious! Don't be afraid, I'll have my assistant call the police right away. Can you tell me where you were murdered?"
Upon hearing this, Big Cat slowly approached Madam Godskin's sickbed.
"Sister, you're so silly..."
“Uh…” Lady Godpie gritted her teeth and propped herself up.
The noise she made finally woke up her sleeping assistant.
"Madam? You're awake?" The assistant reached out and turned on the table lamp. The warm light illuminated the room.
"Call the police quickly, Big Cat is dead!" said Madam Godpie.
"What?" the assistant exclaimed in surprise.
"Her lingering evil is here," Lady Godpick pointed. The assistant also possessed exorcist-level mental power, so she should be able to see Big Cat Sauce as well.
The assistant looked in the direction Mrs. Godpick pointed, but she saw nothing.
"Madam, I didn't see anything. Are you hallucinating because you're sick?" The assistant reached out and touched Madam Shenpi's forehead.
Mrs. Godpie's forehead was alarmingly hot.
"It's so hot! This... You lie down quickly, I'll go get someone!" The assistant hurriedly went out to call a nurse.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Shenpi, lying on her sickbed, looked somewhat bewildered.
The evil thoughts of Big Cat were clearly standing in front of her bed, so why couldn't the assistant see them? Had the assistant's mental abilities deteriorated?
Or perhaps I'm just delirious from the fever...
"Sister, no one else can see me. Do you think I'm evil? I'm not evil, I'm inside you right now," Big Cat said.
"What are you saying?!" Lady Godpie exclaimed in astonishment.
"Sister, please give me your body, okay? Stop resisting. If we keep resisting, we'll both die," Big Cat said, holding Lady Goddess's hand.
"..." Lady Godpie looked at Big Cat, her mind starting to fog up again. The high fever had made her thinking sluggish.
Just then, the assistant led a doctor in.
The doctor quickly stepped forward and touched Mrs. Godpick's forehead.
Then his expression turned serious.
"The patient's condition is critical and they need to be taken to the emergency room. Are you a family member? Please sign the consent form..."
The doctor acted swiftly, immediately starting to make phone calls to call for more people.
Although the assistant was also somewhat flustered, she remained calm. She did whatever the doctor told her to do.
Mrs. Godpick was then taken to the emergency room.
"Isn't this just a common viral cold? Why did it develop like this? Is it because of your constitution?" The assistant couldn't help but ask after finishing all the signings.
"This is probably not a cold, but a highly contagious virus. You'd better get a blood test too. If this virus is highly contagious, then it will be troublesome."
"A highly virulent virus?" The assistant was somewhat bewildered.
She even began to suspect that it was the guys in her family who had done it.
After all, Madam Shenpi's family owns a pharmaceutical company. If they were to attack Madam Shenpi with some kind of laboratory-produced virus, it would truly be done without anyone knowing.
Thinking about this, the assistant felt both angry and helpless. She calmly went to get her blood checked while simultaneously picking up her phone and dialing Grecker's number.
The call was quickly answered, and the assistant hurriedly explained what had happened.
"Okay, I understand. I'll be right there." Grek's tone was very calm, and the assistant felt much more at ease upon hearing it.
The assistant hung up the phone, tears streaming down her face. She never imagined her family members could be so despicable, resorting to such methods to harm people.
It's not surprising that she thinks that way, mainly because highly virulent viruses are not common. If they were to appear in a city, the authorities would have already issued a notice.
Moreover, the assistant really couldn't figure out where Mrs. Godpie had come into contact with the source of the highly contagious virus.
Grek finally arrived, much to the assistant's anxious wait.
Accompanying Grek was an unusually tall man. However, the man's movements were mechanical, making him look somewhat eerie.
He spoke with Greck for a while before leaving.
When the assistant saw that Grek had arrived, he hurriedly went to greet him.
"It must have been someone from the family! I suspect they used a highly virulent virus cultivated in a lab to harm people!"
“It’s not them. If it really were them, things would be much easier.” Grek shook his head.
"Huh? Who did that? It couldn't have really been a natural infection, could it?" The assistant was dumbfounded.
"Did you see that tall man just now? He's from the National Security Bureau. He told me that Mrs. Shenpi was probably attacked by a foreign spy."
"And that spy's name is Big Cat Sauce. Have you had any contact with her?"
"What?!" The assistant's pupils shrank, he could hardly believe it.
Although she felt something was off about Big Cat, she never expected that the other party would actually be a foreign spy!
“Damn it! We did contact her! But why would she do that? What good would it do her?” the assistant snapped.
“The big guy from the National Security Agency didn’t go into specifics, but they said they would try to make a vaccine for the virus on Mrs. Godpie,” Grek said.
"How long will it take them to complete the vaccine?"
"At the fastest, it will take a week; otherwise, I don't know."
"A week?" The assistant closed his eyes in anguish. A week was too long; by then, it was too late.
She knew she couldn't rely on those people anymore. So she reached out and gripped Grek's arm tightly.
“I know that only you can help Madam now… Please save her! I beg you!” The assistant looked at Grek with hopeful eyes.
Greck's expression, however, remained quite calm.
"This ordeal depends on Madam Shenpi herself. There's only so much I can do to help. Let the professional doctors provide basic care first. I'll deal with the rest once Shenpi's condition has stabilized a bit."
"Thank you..." the assistant nodded, tears welling in her eyes.
Meanwhile, a large man from the National Security Agency climbed into a van with a document in his hand.
As he entered the van, the van's chassis slammed down hard. It was as if a lump of metal had gone in, not a person.
"How is it? How is Lady Godskin doing?" The two-headed bird's voice came from the back seat of the van.
“This is very bad, she’s going to die,” the big man said.
“That shouldn’t be the case. According to the intelligence we have, the virus on Big Cat should have an incubation period. How come it broke out so quickly this time? Is it because Lady Goddess has a special constitution? Or has the virus mutated?” the two-headed bird asked, frowning.
“We’ve already done some preliminary research on the virus on Big Cat. It’s a very strange virus, it’s like it has its own consciousness,” the big guy said.
"Autonomy? What does that mean?" The two-headed bird was taken aback.
"We cultured the viruses from the giant cat's corpse under suitable conditions. Initially, they were very active, but after a certain point in time, they all..."
"Is it dead?" the two-headed bird asked.
"It's not death, it's disappearance."
"Disappeared? How is that possible! Are you sure you're not mistaken?" the two-headed bird exclaimed in surprise.
“We can’t be mistaken. Maybe Big Cat isn’t as simple as we think,” the big guy said.
"What's wrong with Lady Shenpi? The virus in her body doesn't seem to have disappeared."
"Yes, so we guess that Big Cat is transferring, and she is currently forcibly taking over Lady Goddess's body."
"That's ridiculous!" The two-headed bird shook its head, completely rejecting the explanation.
"We'll see whether it works or not. We'll delay Lady Goddess's treatment and help Big Cat-chan successfully take over. Then we'll have enough time to study it."
